Movement

Play - Begins the drive through process, which can be stopped or paused at any time. In order to provide a smooth animation, the software determines the step interval while playing. Therefore, clicking on the Pause button most likely pauses at a location that is not a multiplier of the step value in the General Settings, which is used only for the Step functions.

Pause - Stops the drive through at the current station.

Stop - Stops the drive through and returns the view to the beginning station.

Go To the Beginning - returns the view to the beginning station.

Step Backward - each click moves the driving one step backward (decreasing stationing) and displays the updated station. The step value is specified in the General Settings tab (same tab as the navigation buttons).

Step Forward – each click moves the driving one step forward (increasing stationing) and displays the updated station. The step value is specified in the General Settings tab (same tab as the navigation buttons).

Go To the End - moves the view to the end station.

Reverse - Click reverse, then click Play. The drive through now drives along the centerline towards decreasing stationing.

Pan Control – Clicking the top arrow raises the view at the target point, clicking the bottom arrow lowers the view at the target point. Clicking the right or left arrows pans right or left. To return to the original view (before panning), click the eye in the center. The Pan feature can be used while the drive through is running or while it is paused.

Field

Description

Speed

Defines the speed of the vehicle. This value is used to calculate the distance in feet or meters per second between frames, and the number of frames. The drive through will run in miles per hour or kilometers per hour depending on the settings of the design file.

Station

When the centerline is selected, the software determines the station range, (if a civil element is used) and displays the beginning station in the Station keyin field. The beginning Station may be changed by the designer by keying the desired station, but it must be within the limits of the centerline. If a MicroStation element is selected, the origin point of the element is assigned a station of 0+00. Note the software does not start at the beginning of the 3D elements, but at the centerline starting point.

Step

Defines the distance traveled between each camera view when the Step Backward and Step Forward buttons are used (not the run option).
